The Music department encourages pupils to develop their musical performance skills and to promote creativity through composition. Our extra-curricular activities include keyboard and guitar clubs, rock school and choir. Theses collaborative groups provide instrumental tuition and also enhance ensemble skills. Pupils also have the opportunity to perform at school concerts throughout the year.

In Key Stage 3 pupils have 50 minutes of music each week. The curriculum is based around learning to play the keyboard coupled with developing an appreciation of music history, culture, theory, listening skills and composition. Pupils study a diverse range of topics from World music to orchestral instruments to contemporary musical genres as well as classical traditions.
